Everyone at East Fife Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our Honorary Director, Denis Nicol.

Denis had a lifelong connection with East Fife. A supporter of the club since the late 1940s/early 1950s, he remained a passionate follower of the Fifers throughout his life and became a familiar and valued figure around Bayview.

Away from football, Denis spent his career working in the family business, RS Nicol & Sons, which was founded in 1922. Beginning his working life as a mechanic, Denis helped grow the business into a well-known local company specialising in car servicing and sales. During this time, RS Nicol & Sons proudly served as main sponsor of East Fife FC for several years, further strengthening Denis’s long-standing relationship with the club.

After retiring from the business, Denis chose to give his time back to the club he loved by volunteering at East Fife. His commitment, enthusiasm and willingness to help in any way he could quickly made him an important part of the club community.

In 2014, Denis was appointed to the Board of Directors, where he continued to serve with dedication and quiet determination. In recognition of his many years of support and service, Denis was appointed Honorary Director in August 2024.

Denis will be remembered not only for his contribution to the club, but also for his warmth, generosity and unwavering support for East Fife over many decades.

Everyone at East Fife FC sends their sincere condolences to Denis’s family and friends at this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
