The Glasgow Clan took a hard-earned two points from a challenging weekend in Belfast, delivering an impressive road victory before being edged out in the second meeting with the Belfast Giants.
The Clan produced one of their standout performances of the season to secure a huge road win at the SSE Arena, denying the Giants the chance to move closer to the league title.
From the opening puck drop, the Clan set the tone with pace and intent. After an early spell of pressure, the breakthrough came on the powerplay as Brady Risk reacted quickest to a loose puck to fire home the opener.
The Giants responded through JJ Piccinich, but the Clan quickly regained control in the second period. Tristan Langan restored the lead with a composed finish before Robert Lachowicz produced a moment of brilliance, breaking clear and slotting home to make it 3–1.
The Clan remained disciplined in the final period, limiting Belfast’s chances and closing out an impressive 4–1 victory, with a complete team performance that frustrated the league leaders throughout.
The second meeting of the weekend proved a tighter, more physical contest as Belfast responded strongly.
A goalless first period set the tone for a cagey encounter, with both goaltenders performing well under pressure. The Clan broke the deadlock early in the second as Brady Risk’s effort took a deflection and looped into the net.
However, the Giants hit back through Jordan Kawaguchi before the forward added a second late in the period to swing momentum in Belfast’s favour.
Despite continued effort from the Clan, further goals from Ciaran Long and David Goodwin secured a 4–1 win for the hosts, ensuring the points were split across the weekend.
The Clan now enter the final stretch of the regular season, with crucial fixtures ahead as they continue their push for points.
The Flyers make their final visit to Braehead Arena this season, with the Clan aiming to build momentum on home ice and add vital points to their tally.
The Clan then travel south for their final regular season meeting with the Flames, in what could prove decisive in the battle for 7th place.
