The Glasgow Clan picked up two points from a crucial weekend, delivering a commanding shutout win at home before falling just short on the road against the Guildford Flames.

vs Fife Flyers | 5–0 WIN (H)

The Clan produced a dominant performance at Braehead Arena, shutting out the Flyers in a comprehensive 5–0 victory.

After a scrappy opening period, the breakthrough came on the powerplay as Mick Messner fired home from range. Just 36 seconds later, Brady Risk doubled the advantage with a clinical top-shelf finish to give the Clan firm control heading into the break.

The second period saw the Clan extend their lead through Jason Fram, while at the other end, goaltender Liam Souliere delivered a standout performance — including a superb backdoor save to deny Keaton Jameson.

With tensions rising in the third, the Clan remained composed and continued to dominate. Late goals from Rylan Schwartz and Messner, his second of the night, sealed the result.

Souliere was rightly named Player of the Game, earning his first professional shutout in an assured performance between the pipes.

vs Guildford Flames | 2–3 LOSS (A)

The Clan then travelled south to face Guildford in a tightly contested game that ultimately slipped away despite leading twice.

Rylan Schwartz opened the scoring early, reacting quickest to his own rebound after strong work from Joe Hazeldine. Guildford responded through Jack Jacome, with an unfortunate deflection bringing the hosts level.

In a physical second period, Mick Messner restored the Clan’s lead with a superb finish from the slot. However, a controversial penalty allowed Jacome to strike on the powerplay and tie the game once more.

The decisive moment came late in the third period, with Jacome completing his hat-trick on another powerplay opportunity to give the Flames a 3–2 lead. Despite pushing late with the extra skater, the Clan were unable to find an equaliser.

Coming Up

The Clan now head into the final stretch of the regular season with three crucial fixtures:

Wednesday 1 April – Dundee Stars (H) | 7:30pm

The final meeting of the season against the Stars, with the Clan aiming to complete a clean sweep in league play.

Saturday 4 April – Sheffield Steelers (A) | 7:00pm

The Clan travel to the Utilita Arena for the penultimate game of the regular season, looking to build on a strong recent record against the Steelers.

Sunday 5 April – Sheffield Steelers (H) | 4:00pm

The regular season concludes at Braehead Arena with a Sheffield double-header finale. This game will determine the Clan’s final seeding and their opponents in the Elite League Playoff Quarter Finals.

With the playoff picture set to be decided, every shift — and every point — now carries even greater importance.
