During our hosting of the KDM Evolution Trophy final on Sunday, parts of the John Lambie and Jackie Husband Stands were damaged by visiting supporters.
When our operations team inspected the stands on Monday morning that had been occupied by both sets of fans, they found damage to just under 100 seats. Significant graffiti was also discovered in the John Lambie Stand toilet facilities.
Some of that graffiti was racist in nature. We have reported the matter to Police Scotland and are assisting with their enquiries. As this is currently an active police matter, the club is unable to comment further on that aspect at this stage, but we fully intend to comment further once the process is concluded.
Our club is built on clear values of inclusion, respect and bringing people together. Racism, hate, discrimination and division of any kind have no place. We believe in a better society, one where people come together rather than being pulled apart by prejudice and hatred.
We have moved quickly to deal with the damage. Once the necessary evidence had been gathered, most of the graffiti was removed by Tuesday evening, and the remaining repair work is being completed as quickly as possible.
