We’re delighted to announce that Partick Thistle Women will bring top-six ScottishPower Women’s Premier League football to The Wyre Stadium at Firhill for the first time.

It will be a Friday night under the lights for Gary Holt’s side as they host 16-time champions Glasgow City in front of the BBC Alba cameras on Friday 24 April.

It has been another successful season for the women’s side, securing a third top-six finish in the last four years. A dramatic 94th-minute winner against Hamilton, scored by debutant Sienna McGoldrick, ensured a top-half finish once again.

Previous matches at Firhill have provided plenty of excitement, including a 3–0 victory over Hamilton, followed by a spirited comeback from two goals down to draw with Aberdeen last season.

Now, with a Glasgow derby under the lights, the club is aiming to attract a strong crowd to The Wyre Stadium at Firhill to support the team and help drive them towards another positive result.

Tickets are priced at just £5, with Under-16s admitted free.

PTWFC CEO Caroline Mackie said:
“We’re delighted to be back at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill and to bring the TV cameras with us to showcase such a high-profile game at the stadium.

“With support at Petershill Park growing year on year, we want to encourage even more fans to come along, back the team and see their heroes—regardless of gender—playing on the Firhill pitch.”

Manager Gary Holt added:
“I’m really proud to bring my team to Firhill for this match. To finish in the top six again, especially given the challenges we’ve faced this season, and to be the top part-time team in the country once more is a fantastic achievement.

“Our performances in the top six have been excellent, with the squad rising to the challenge against strong opposition. We’ve pushed Celtic and Rangers close in recent weeks and picked up an impressive away point at reigning champions Hibernian in our last game.

“This is a team that gives everything for the badge in every match, and they deserve a big support behind them.”

Acting General Manager Graham McRoberts said:
“We’re looking forward to hosting the women’s team at the stadium. They’ve represented Partick Thistle superbly all season, and it’s important to bring them here in front of what will hopefully be a large crowd.

“We want our young supporters to see both the men’s and women’s teams playing at Firhill—to show that, regardless of gender, they can all dream of representing the club they love here one day.”
