Lewis Budinauckas has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper initially joined the club on loan from Rangers last February with his move being made permanent in the summer after playing eight times.

In his first campaign as a fully-fledged Jag, Lewis played 10 matches, kept three clean sheets and contributed to two vitally important Championship wins in March while Josh Clarke was away on international duty.

Thistle Head Coach Mark Wilson said:

“Gametime was obviously limited for Lewis last season but I was extremely impressed with the way he conducted himself on a daily basis despite that.

“He has a really positive attitude and kept himself ready so that he could contribute when called upon. His performances against Raith Rovers and Ross County towards the end of the season were prime examples of that and are evidence of a real team player.

“We want competition all over the pitch but I think it’s particularly important having two strong goalkeepers who can work together while also pushing each other to bring out their respective best.”
