Ken Bates

Everyone at Partick Thistle was saddened to learn of the passing of Ken Bates at the age of 94.

Ken was involved with the club during the 1980s, purchasing a controlling interest at a time when Partick Thistle was facing significant financial challenges. His investment provided stability during a difficult period in the club’s history.

In 1989, Ken’s shareholding in the club was purchased, bringing his association with Partick Thistle to an end.

Throughout his life, Ken played a prominent role in British football, holding positions and interests at Wigan Athletic, Oldham Athletic, Chelsea and Leeds United.

The thoughts of everyone at Partick Thistle are with Ken’s family and friends at this sad time.
