Alex Samuel named Seven Wealth Player of the Month for March

March was a successful month for Alex Samuel as the Welshman signed a new Thistle contract and hit double figures in goals for the season so it’s hardly surprising that the Jags faithful have selected him as their Seven Wealth Player of the Month despite a competitive field of candidates!

The striker started all five games in March as the Jags earned 10 points from 12 available in the league and he contributed two goals to the cause – both against former clubs.

Firstly, he struck late at Cappielow Park to earn his side all three points against Greenock Morton, drilling a left-footed shot low across goal into the bottom corner, before then grabbing a timely equaliser against Ross County at The Wyre Stadium at Firhill, redirecting a Robbie Crawford delivery into the net after Thistle had fallen behind early.

He was also involved in the build-up to the team’s beautifully crafted opener at Stark’s Park against Raith Rovers and shone out of possession too with his tireless work up top setting the tone for the entire XI all month long.

Upon receiving the award, Alex said:
