The Glasgow Clan return to home ice this Friday night as they face the Cardiff Devils for the final time in the regular season at Braehead Arena.

The Clan will be aiming to finish the season series on level terms after five hard-fought meetings so far. The Devils currently edge the head-to-head record with three wins to the Clan’s two, setting the stage for an important contest as the season enters its closing weeks.

Previous Meetings

The Clan looks ahead to their sixth and final meeting against the Cardiff Devils. Previous meetings have seen the Clan win their first meeting in the Vindico Arena in a dramatic shootout in October before beating the Devils on home ice in November. After two confident wins, December saw the Clan lose in dramatic fashion in early December before taking Cardiff to overtime the following week.

The most recent game vs the Cardiff Devils saw the Clan lose out on a tight game.

Team News

There is positive news for the Clan as forward Brayden Burke returns to the lineup after an extended spell on the sidelines with a lower body injury. His return adds further depth and creativity to the forward group as the Clan look to build momentum heading into the weekend.

However, the Clan will be without defenceman Colton Poolman, who misses tonight’s game with a lower body injury.

The injury list also continues to include Alex Forbes and captain Deven Sideroff, who both remain unavailable.

Projected Lineup

With Poolman unavailable, the Clan blue line will see some adjustment. One player will have the opportunity to step up and fill the gap on defence, while Burke’s return to the lineup could allow Darien Kielb to shift back into his defensive role.

In goal, the coaching staff have a decision to make with three healthy netminders available for selection, giving the Clan plenty of options between the pipes for tonight’s matchup.

With this being the final meeting between the sides this season, both teams will be eager to take the win. For the Clan, a victory would see them draw the season series level and send the home crowd home happy at Braehead Arena.
