Partick Thistle Youth Academy midfielders Nick Lockhart and Harry Weir have joined Kilwinning Rangers on loan for the remainder of the season, subject to Scottish FA clearance.

Regulars for Gary Irvine’s high-flying Under 19s side, Nick and Harry have spent time training with the Jags’ first team squad this term and both featured in the Steven Lawless Testimonial match against St. Mirren in November with Lockhart starting and Weir coming off the bench.

The duo head to Buffs Park where they will compete in the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division with debuts possible as early as this afternoon when Kevin Kelly’s side travel to Newlandsfield to face Pollok.

Thistle Head Coach Mark Wilson said:

“Nick and Harry have been training with the first team regularly this season as a reward for their performances with the Under 19s but this represents a great chance for them to go and really test themselves playing at a competitive senior level.

“For Nick, it’ll be about building on what he learned during his time with Linlithgow Rose earlier this season while it’ll be a completely new experience for Harry. We’ll be watching the boys’ progress closely and I look forward to seeing how they get on.”
