Your nominees for Goal of the Season 25/26 are:

Goal 1: JO LOVE vs Hamilton

Arguably the biggest move in the SWPL summer transfer window, Scotland’s most capped outfield player hit the ground running in Jags colours as she struck first in the opening game of the league campaign. Erin Rennie’s corner found Demi Falconer who rolled it out for the number 6 to send the strike from the edge of the box powering high into the net in the 50th minute.

Goal 2: RACHEL DONALDSON vs Rangers

It wouldn’t be a Goal of the Season conversation without a Rachel Donaldson mention, would it? Hannah Robinson battled for possession before threading the through ball in Rachel’s direction, who darted past all 4 of the Gers backline before chipping the keeper at the edge of the box, her looping effort bounding high into goal for the opener at Petershill.

Goal 3: JO LOVE vs Motherwell

The next mention for the midfielder comes in a festive tie against the other side of the Lanarkshire derby as Love steps up to take the free kick from 35 yards out deep into additional time in a 1-1 deadlock. She sent the stunning set piece firing high over the wall and keeper alike, powering into the back of the net to see Thistle round of 2025 with all hugly important 3 points against Motherwell.

Goal 4: SIENNA MCGOLDRICK vs Hamilton

Just in the Petershill doors mere hours earlier to join on loan, Sienna played the catalyst in what was arguably the Jags’ biggest moment of the season. In the dying minutes of the tie that required a goal to secure a place in the SWPL top six, the ball from the back eventually found Sienna who took the touch on the turn to get past her marker before slotting low into the bottom corner to reacquaint Partick Thistle with the most dramatic of top six finishes

Goal 5: ERIN RENNIE vs Celtic

Having gone behind early, Thistle responded in magnificent fashion as they forced the turn in possession before the ball found Rennie who ran on to it before spotting the keeper off her line. Taking full opportunity from considerable distance, without even taking a touch, her looping shot on the run sailed high over the goalkeeper and into the net to bring the tie back even in the 9th minute, the first of two stunning Jags strikes that day…

GOAL 6: OLIVIA KING vs Celtic

The other from that afternoon came late in the match. Having drawn the foul, King stepped up to take the free kick from range. From the centre of goal, The keeper didn’t stand a chance as her set piece thundered past the wall and goalkeepers outstreatched efforts and settled into the top corner to once more draw the tie back level before late hearbreak robbed The Jags of a famour result.
