Ava Easdon returns to the Thistle goal

Partick Thistle are excited to announce the loan signing of Ava Easdon from Glasgow City through the 26/27 campaign.

The highly rated goalkeeper penned her first professional contract with City in April of 2024, going on to debut for the side not long thereafter. Whilst there, she made 7 appearances in league competition, keeping 5 clean sheets in the process before making the loan move to Montrose. Featuring in both league and cup competitions for the Angus side, she was recalled back to Glasgow in January before heading to Gartcairn to end the season and is now making the move down the corridor at Petershill for the 26/27 campaign.

Ava is however no stranger to Partick Thistle, hitting the ground running when she joined for her first loan spell in 2023 where she shared the goalkeeping duties with Megan Cunningam in a highly competitive Jags side at 17 years old. Her efforts were duly awarded, seeing her start in goal against Rangers at Partick Thistle’s first ever national final in the Sky Sports Cup, alongside claiming international call ups for Scotland under 19’s and a PFA SWPL Young Player of the Year nomination, cumulatively sealing her first professional contact on her return to her parent club.

On signing Ava said: “I’m really excited to be back at Thistle. I think I played the best football of my career when I was here last time and hopefully I can do that again.

“I have lots of great memories from my last spell and it’s a club that’s always been special to me and one that’s really looked after me so I’m really happy to be back for the season.

“I’m looking forward to working with the other goalkeepers and helping the team reach our goals for the season”

Manager Gary Holt said: “Ava is a talented young goalkeeper who will really add to our goalkeeping department for the upcoming season.

“She’s got a lot of experiance at this level from her spell here before and has worked with some top goalkeepers at Glasgow City so will have learned a lot from them too in between times.

“She is another who will really fit in well with the group too which is important to us in building the enviroment we want to here at the club”
