Daniel Gray joins Kilwinning Rangers on loan

Partick Thistle Youth Academy graduate Daniel Gray has joined Kilwinning Rangers on a loan deal until January, subject to Scottish FA clearance.

The 18-year-old forward joins the Buffs having signed his two-year modern apprenticeship contract in June before featuring in both of our open-door pre-season friendlies, including a start against Pollok at Newlandsfield Park.

Daniel finished as top scorer for Gary Irvine’s Under 19s last season with 14 goals and made his senior debut when he came on as a late substitute in a 1-1 draw with Airdrieonians in November.

Now, he seeks more senior minutes with Chris Strain’s side whose league campaign continues tonight against Albion Rovers.

Thistle Head Coach Mark Wilson said:

“We’ve already got a number of our young players out on loan gaining valuable first team experience and it’s great that Daniel will get that opportunity too.

“He’s a player with plenty of potential which is obvious from his goalscoring returns last season and now he’s going to a team who have started their campaign well and who like to play attacking football. Hopefully he’ll enjoy it and learn a lot while he’s there.”
