East Fife FC are delighted to welcome another popular former Fifer back to Bayview when Brian ‘Zico’ Jenkins joins us as our Hospitality Guest of Honour for the match against Ross County on Saturday 5th September.
Brian spent four memorable years in black and gold during an exciting period for the club, helping East Fife climb from the basement division to within touching distance of the Premier Division.
Originally a winger, Brian was converted into a full-back by manager Davie Clarke, and the move certainly paid off. In his first season at the club, he was part of the side which won promotion and began East Fife’s rise through the divisions.
There were plenty of memorable moments along the way, including becoming a Scottish Cup hero on a famous night at old Bayview, while his contribution to the club was later recognised with a testimonial – marked by a showpiece match against Celtic.
And, of course, there was the nickname. With his distinctive look, Brian could apparently be easily mistaken for a certain Brazilian superstar of the 1970s – earning him the affectionate ‘Zico’ moniker among the East Fife faithful!
