Partick Thistle Football Club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Iain Gordon as a director of the Club Board.
A Thistle supporter for more than 50 years, Iain first attended games with his dad and has remained a Jag ever since, now attending alongside friends and the next generation of their families.
Iain brings significant senior business and commercial experience to the board. He was Executive Chairman of a multinational medical research business, leading on corporate governance and commercial development before its sale to private equity in 2023. He subsequently spent two years as Managing Director under its new owners, working within a multi-billion-dollar international group.
He is now Chairman and an investor in Glasgow-based medical device company Pinpoint Medical, a part-time role which will allow him to devote significant time to the club.
“I have been watching Thistle for over 50 years, firstly with my dad and his pals, then with my own friends and now with those friends and our kids,” Iain said.
“It is a real privilege to have the opportunity to join the board. I believe there is considerable scope to grow Thistle’s commercial income by making better use of the club’s location, identity, supporter base and relationships with the wider business community in Glasgow and beyond.
“I have spent the last couple of weeks meeting the current board and discussing the potential of the club and our plans for moving things forward. It will be a pleasure to work alongside them and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the club and helping us grow.”
Iain’s appointment followed an extensive process of discussions with members of the Club Board, as well as the Trustees, who engaged throughout. We are grateful for their positive and speedy engagement in ratifying the appointment.
