All at Partick Thistle Football Club were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of dedicated Jags fan Jim White on Tuesday, 30th June at the age of 90.

Jim’s Firhill journey began in the 50s when he came to games with his father and he has passed on his passion for the club to his sons Mark and David as well as his grandson Cameron.

Frequently seen wearing his red and yellow tie to family events, Jim was interviewed as part of the ‘Grasping The Thistle’ documentary produced by the BBC in the early 2000s.

Although he wasn’t able to attend games in recent years, he still kept right up to date with the team’s fortunes by watching or listening along where possible and catching the highlights after each game.

Away from football, Jim earned a nomination for the Great Scot Award as recognition of 60 years working with a homelessness charity.

The thoughts and condolences of all connected to the club are with Jim’s family and friends.

Rest in peace Jim. Once a Jag, always a Jag.
