There are some voices that become part of a club’s identity. For 16 years, Kevin McCoskrie has been exactly that for the Glasgow Clan.

On a night filled with emotion and significance, Kevin signed off as the Clan’s Master of Ceremony in fitting fashion, as the team secured their place at the Elite Ice Hockey League Playoff Final Weekend in Nottingham. It was a moment worthy of the man who has been there since day one – his final night on the mic coming as the Clan reached the final four for just the second time in their history.

From the very beginning, Kevin has been the heartbeat of the game night experience at Braehead Arena. His voice, energy, and connection with the Purple Army helped shape the atmosphere that Clan fans know and love today. Whether it was building the hype before puck drop or leading the crowd during big moments, Kevin played a central role in making every game an occasion.

His impact, however, stretches far beyond what happens under the lights on game night.

Kevin has also been instrumental in growing the club’s presence in the community. He played a key role in launching the Clan Academy last season, helping create opportunities for the next generation to get involved in the sport. Alongside that, his work with the Glasgow Clan Ice Futures Charity has made a lasting difference, with the club becoming the first to bring NHL Street Hockey initiatives into schools across Glasgow—opening the game up to more young people than ever before.

Fittingly, Kevin took part in the winning thunder clap after the final buzzer, soaking in the atmosphere one last time. And as the night drew to a close, he quite literally dropped the mic, bringing an end to an era in unforgettable style.

While the Clan now look ahead to Nottingham and the chance to make more history, it also marks the closing chapter of an incredible journey for one of the club’s most dedicated figures.
