East Fife return to William Hill League 1 action this afternoon as Alloa Athletic make the journey to Methil for an important encounter at Bayview Stadium.
The Fifers head into today’s fixture looking to return to winning ways following a frustrating run of results across league and cup competition. East Fife were held to a 1-1 draw away to Cove Rangers in their most recent league outing before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Cumbernauld Colts in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
That result came after consecutive home defeats against Montrose and Clydebank, with the Fifers now eager to put their recent disappointments behind them and get their league campaign moving in the right direction.
Following the departure of Dick Campbell and his backroom staff, Jim Moffat, Pat Slattery and Brian Easton have taken interim charge of the first team as East Fife prepare for an important afternoon at Bayview. The Fifers have found consistency difficult to come by during the opening quarter of the campaign, with draws and narrow defeats preventing them from climbing further up the standings. Turning promising performances into victories remains the immediate priority.
Alloa Athletic arrive level on points with East Fife, setting the stage for a closely contested encounter between two sides looking to improve their league positions. With home advantage and the backing of the Bayview faithful, the Fifers will be determined to produce a positive performance, claim all three points and give their supporters something to cheer about.
