Peterhead come into today’s game sitting just a point behind the Fifers after taking three points from their opening two fixtures.
The Blue Toon began their league campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Ross County, former Scotland striker Brian Graham scoring the only goal midway through the second half. They responded in impressive fashion last Saturday, however, securing a 1-0 victory away to Queen of the South at Palmerston Park.
Like East Fife, Peterhead were also involved in the KDM Evolution Trophy during the week, although their evening proved considerably more straightforward. They ran out 5-1 winners away to Banks O’Dee at Spain Park, meaning they come into this afternoon’s match with victories in their previous two outings.
The Blue Toon remain under the joint management of Jordon Brown and Ryan Strachan, who have provided considerable stability at Balmoor and signed new three-year deals with the club last year.
With only a point separating the sides at this early stage, this afternoon provides another good indication of where both teams stand.
