The MKM Dundee Stars travelled to Braehead Arena last night for Challenge Cup action, but were shutout 3-0 by the Glasgow Clan.

Glasgow opened the scoring at 14:40, with Jake Johnson’s shot from the point deflecting off the skate of Brady Risk and past Vladislav Pestov. A video review was initiated by the officials to decide if the puck had been kicked into the Stars’ net, however, it was determined to be a good goal.
“There was definitely a different energy there and it’s a fresh start for them, which we knew coming in,” reflected Dutertre post-game.

Sideroff doubled the home side’s lead early in the second, redirecting a pass from the right circle by David Madsen into the Stars’ net at 21:09.
Keaton Pehrson added a third just 70 seconds later at 22:19, finishing off an odd-man rush with a shot past Pestov to make it 3-0.
“For the most part, I did like a lot of things that we did in our game, there was just a couple of times we had breakdowns,” added Dutertre.

Neither side could find the back of the net throughout the third period, despite chances at both ends of the ice. Dundee pushed hard to get on the board, however, three minor penalties left the Stars shorthanded for almost half of the frame, as the Clan skated away with a 3-0 victory.
“For us to be successful, we have to have everybody working hard and unfortunately we had a few passengers tonight,” concluded Dutertre.
