The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the return of American forward Mick Messner for the 2026/27 season.

Messner arrived in Glasgow in February during the closing stages of last season as the Clan added firepower for the push towards the Playoff Final Weekend, and the American wasted no time making his mark in purple.

In 21 appearances, the 27-year-old recorded 14 points, scoring 11 goals and adding 3 assists during an impressive spell with the club.

Among those goals were some huge moments in the Clan’s playoff run, including a crucial shootout goal against league champions the Belfast Giants in the Playoff Quarter Finals, before opening the scoring in the 3vs4 Playoff Final Weekend clash against the Manchester Storm.

From the moment he stepped onto the ice at Braehead Arena, Messner quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his explosive speed, physical edge, and clinical finishing ability in the offensive zone.

His energy and intensity gave the Clan another dimension during the business end of the season, with supporters immediately taking to the American forward’s relentless style of play.

Now, after a strong finish to the campaign, Messner is set to return to Glasgow as the Clan continue building their roster for the 2026/27 season.

Mick Messner said:

I’m very excited to be returning to Glasgow. The energy of the people and the city made my decision an easy one. I’m looking forward to coming back and building on what we accomplished last year.

Welcome back, Mick!
