The 2026/27 season is almost here, and for a group of Glasgow Clan supporters, the excitement of the new campaign became a little more personal at Braehead Arena.
The Clan’s Own & Loan event brought together supporters who have chosen to loan their favourite player’s game-worn jersey for the upcoming season, giving them the chance to meet the man behind the name and number on the back.
Held at Braehead Arena ahead of the new Motorpoint Elite League campaign, the event gave fans the opportunity to sit down with their chosen player, chat about the season ahead, grab photographs and get to know the Clan roster away from the ice.
For the players, it was also a chance to meet some of the supporters who will be backing them throughout the season.
The Own & Loan programme offers fans a unique connection to the team, with each jersey becoming part of their own piece of Clan history throughout the campaign. At the end of the season, the players will return to Braehead Arena once again for the Own & Loan handback, where the jerseys will be handed back to their respective ‘loaners’ as a lasting memento of the 2026/27 season.
A SURPRISE FOR THE PURPLE ARMY
There was also an unexpected bonus for supporters in attendance.
As the event came to a close, the Clan revealed their latest addition to the 2026/27 roster with the announcement of American defenceman Keaton Pehrson.
The 27-year-old Minnesota native stands at 6ft 2in and weighs 216lbs, adding size, mobility and experience to the Clan blue line. Pehrson joins Glasgow following two seasons with the Savannah Ghost Pirates in the ECHL, where he featured 66 times during the 2025/26 campaign, recording three goals and 14 assists for 17 points while finishing the season with a +5 rating.
The move will also see Pehrson experience European hockey for the first time, as he begins a new chapter in Glasgow.
His signing provided the perfect surprise ending to an evening already centred around bringing the team and supporters closer together.
With the first competitive games of the new season now just around the corner, the Clan’s players and their Own & Loan supporters will soon have plenty more memories to make together.
And when the season reaches its conclusion, those same jerseys will make their way back to Braehead Arena for one final meeting between player and loaner.
For now, though, the jerseys are officially out on loan — and the 2026/27 journey is ready to begin.
