We were delighted when Partick Thistle – A People’s History sold out within one week. The response was overwhelming and thanks to all who bought a copy.

We know that it was frustrating for those of you who missed out and so, after working closely with the publisher, Halcyon Publishing, we can announce another print run. These will be Club Editions, without names, numbers or dedications, and will now go on sale for £15.

This book is about a group of people, most of whom have never met, but all of whom share a profound love. It’s the story of a community’s togetherness and pride, unity and compassion. The story of football fans, embedded in a collective sense of survival in the face of crushing defeat and indignity, disappointment and despondency.

From Methil to Metz, Hampden to Honved, read about the fans’ experiences of a lifetime as Partick Thistle supporters.

Find out what it was like to watch Johnny McKenzie, Willie Sharp or John Harvey play.

Who got hit by a pie at Love Street?

Who got abandoned as a young boy when his Dad invaded the pitch?

Why was winning the half time draw at Montrose a bit of a problem?

All these questions answered, and more.

Also great contributions from former players about their love of Partick Thistle and our supporters. Chic Charnley, Paul Kinnaird, Alan Rough and Gordon Rae amongst them.

These fans have chosen or been chosen by this team – Jags for life. But they don’t see it as a choice. It’s an inheritance that they will pass on. They are the beating heart and the uplifting soul of Partick Thistle.

This is their story.

Partick Thistle: A People’s History celebrates 150 years of the club through the eyes of the fans. It will be published in August 2026.
