With the 26/27 campaign now in full swing, a busy September returned a mixed bag for Partick Thistle Women. From well fought battles against full time opposition, to cup success and a winning return home to the WrightKerr Stadium at Firhill. The time has come for you to decide upon your Player of the Month for September.
Your nominees are:
Demi Falconer:
Leading by example, it’s been another strong month for the captain.
An ever present at the heart of a strong Jags defence, Demi played catalyst as Thistle valiantly held off an attacking Celtic side before keeping Gartcairn at bay and getting everyone up the park to break the deadlock in extra time. Rounding out the month, it was Demi who led PTW out at the WrightKerr Stadium at Firhill where another strong performance against a testing Montrose side eventually saw thistle run out with the deserved 3 points.
Imogen Longcake:
Since penning her return to the Red and Yellow, its simply been a case of picking up where she left off for Imogen.
She notched her 100th Jags appearance in memorable fashion through both her goal and assist in what would become another team-of-the-week feature in the closely contested tie with Celtic. It was more of the same a week later for the number 27 who went on to score the third goal in quick succession to claim a spot in the next round of the Sky Sports Cup.
Jo Love:
It’s been another strong month for the midfielder, who made a starting feature in all but one of this month’s ties.
Consistent as ever throughout her appearances, her standout performance from the month came in what would result in a player of the match performance against Gartcairn in the cup before against Montrose at Firhill where another strong outing through the less than ideal conditions was almost rewarded with a well deserved goal in Jo Love fashion.
Abby Robinson:
Its a second nomination in a row for one of Gary Holt’s summer signings who hit the ground running since making the move to the top league.
A consistent feature in the starting 11 since putting pen to paper, Abby has quickly cemented herself as a prominent feature in the Jags attack, she opened her September account with the opener against Glasgow City as she was on hand to flick on the corner from the left before kickstarting the Red and Yellow comeback with her strike against Montrose at Firhill a week later.
