RETURN TO FIRHILL ROAD – VIA THE THISTLE DOCUMENTARY

Thursday night featured arguably the best supporter rendition yet of Return To Firhill Road, now firmly established as the anthem of Partick Thistle supporters.

Co-written by Jags fans Ian Mackinnon and Neil Donaldson, and performed by a band full of lifelong Thistle followers – The Lambie McParlands – the song is now five years young having been released in early 2021.

Episode four of the new Partick Thistle documentary, One Team In Glasgow, showcases the back story to the song and how it grew to become such a favourite of the Firhill faithful.

All four episodes encapsulate what it means to be a Partick Thistle fan, just as the scenes in the stands did on Thursday, and just as our popular former goalkeeper Tomas Cerny so eloquently articulated in written word yesterday – a must-read for all Jags.
