Ricco Diack joins Ross County on loan

Striker Ricco Diack has joined William Hill League 1 side Ross County on a loan deal until January, subject to Scottish FA clearance.

The 21-year-old is embarking on his third loan spell having recently returned from an injury which had ruled him out of pre-season.

Diack’s previous temporary stays were at Airdrieonians and Kelty Hearts, scoring eight times in 17 games for the latter before returning to Maryhill for the back end of last season.

The Academy graduate has made 43 appearances for the Thistle first team and has scored five times as a Jag, most recently in a Scottish Cup win over Montrose in January.

Now he heads to the Highlands to join up with Stuart Kettlewell’s Staggies who have made a perfect start to their season with four wins from four in the league.

Thistle Head Coach Mark Wilson said:

“It’s been a difficult summer for Ricco because he simply hasn’t had the chance to get up and running but he’s been working hard to get fit and is now back ready to play so it makes sense for him to go and do that.

“County have started the season extremely well so there’ll be competition for places but we want that to bring the best out of Ricco. He’s hungry to play so he’ll need to go and earn it.”
