A successful start to life at Partick Thistle has been capped off for Seb Drozd by winning the August Seven Wealth Player of the Month award!
The mercurial winger earned 60% of the overall vote as his early season form was recognised by the Firhill faithful who have taken to him immediately following his move from Queen’s Park.
A consistent threat down the Thistle right-hand side, Seb’s best performance of the month came against Livingston under the Friday night lights at the WrightKerr Stadium at Firhill when he dazzled the home crowd with his brilliance on the ball and was heavily involved in both goals during a 2-0 victory.
He followed that up by getting a goal of his own in the team’s 1-1 draw with Inverness, firing home from an Aidan Fitzpatrick cutback.
Upon receiving his award from Seven Wealth’s Chris Cassidy, Seb said:
“I’ve loved the start of my time at Thistle and winning this award means a lot so thanks to everyone who voted. I was keen to make a good first impression after moving in the summer and I feel like I’ve been able to do that.
“Everyone’s made me feel very welcome from the coaching staff to the boys in the dressing room and all the supporters who were singing a song for me after only three or four games.
“The main aim is always to contribute to the team’s efforts and we’ve started the season well. Last week was obviously a frustrating one but the performances have been really positive overall so we’ll be looking to carry that on this weekend.”
