In five games during the month of August, Mark Wilson’s Partick Thistle picked up eight points as they made an unbeaten start to the league season and bowed out of the Premier Sports Cup with a narrow defeat to Hibs at Easter Road.
On Championship duty there were draws against Inverness and Queen’s Park and victories over Greenock Morton and Livingston with just one goal conceded in those four league contests.

Seb Drozd
Also nominated in July, Seb Drozd continued his excellent start to life as a Jag during August. The winger produced a Player of the Match display against Livingston as he helped create both of Thistle’s goals and he followed that up by finding the net himself in a 1-1 draw with Inverness in the Highlands.

Aidan Fitzpatrick
Thistle’s no. 21 has picked up where he left off in the William Hill Championship, providing a constant threat on the wing and creating opportunities aplenty for his teammates. At Morton it was his driving run from the defensive half which led to Ts’oanelo Let’sosa’s winning goal, then against Livingston it was his cross that deflected into the back of the net to give Thistle a two-goal cushion going into half-time and in Inverness his cut back found Seb Drozd for the opening goal of the game.

Cale Loughrey
No one has played more minutes in the Thistle squad so far this season than Canadian defender Cale Loughrey and, as of late, most of his time has been spent on the less natural right-side of central defence. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old has slotted in admirably, contributing to three August clean sheets with his calm defending and quality in possession.

Liam McFarlane
In his first full month as a Jag, Liam McFarlane has racked up three clean sheets in five games and conceded just two goals along the way. His most impressive showing came at Easter Road against Hibernian when, after an early concession, the Scottish youth international made a handful of first half stops to keep Thistle in the game.
