Sophie Townsley arrives from Rangers

Partick Thistle are pleased to announce the signing of Sophie Townsley on loan from Rangers for the 26/27 campaign.

The young striker joins the Jags off the back of extensive praise, having immediately made a mark as her 23 goals in her inaugural SWPL2 campaign assisted Hamilton Academical with title winning promotion and saw her nominated as the league’s 2024/25 young player of the year.

Looking to continue her development, Sophie then made the short trip from South to North Lanarkshire where she joined Motherwell for the latter half of last season where she continued to prove an exciting prospect at just 18 years old.

No stranger to the international stage, the striker’s domestic efforts were further recognised as she became a regular starting feature for Scotland under 19’s, most recently seeing game time in their Euros qualification matches.

After signing Sophie Said: “I’m happy to be a Thistle player. It’s a club that has achieved a lot in the last couple of years and one that has really helped and given a chance to a lot of young players

“I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can do and hopefully helping the team with some goals and assists”
