The 2025/26 campaign was one that will live long in our memories. And while we ultimately lost out in Paisley, the unity and passion shown between players, staff, and fans alike should give us all renewed hope and vigour for what lies ahead.

As a Board, we are proud of everyone connected with the club, and determined to channel this season’s near-miss into something meaningful next year.

Football performance

Reaching a play-off final and missing promotion by a single goal is a significant achievement, and credit belongs fully to Mark Wilson, Ian Baraclough, and the squad and staff for what they built this season.

To then also to have reached the quarter-finals of both national cup competitions for the first time in 43 years is a milestone that must not slip under the radar too.

We commend the efforts of all involved, and are determined to support building on that success next season.

Our Women’s team ended another successful season with a draw against Celtic last Sunday. Under Gary Holt, they achieved another top six finish, as well as reaching the quarter finals of the Sky Sports and Scottish Cups.

Summer plans

Ian Baraclough, Mark Wilson, and head of recruitment Lee Turnbull have been planning for both outcomes throughout the season, so work on the squad is already under way.

We know supporters want specifics. The status of our current squad has been made public today, and we will keep everyone informed of news on the players we are in discussions with, both in terms of retentions and new faces.

Our football department have our full support in ensuring we have the best possible chance of retaining key talent, while also being mindful that the progression of players to higher levels is part of our DNA.

The performance and future of the Board

This has been a year of real change at Board level in personnel, structure, and how we operate. We are in a better place for it, and that improvement is visible in how we are now supporting the club day to day.

Craig Liddell and Sandy Fyfe have brought valuable experience and have made an immediate contribution since joining. We are continuing to identify additional skills-based directors and expect to confirm further appointments in the coming weeks, alongside welcoming our new fan-elected representative in due course.

A commitment to stronger fan ownership

Fan ownership is the bedrock of our club and our existence, and we want more supporters to be part of it.

We encourage all fans to sign up and pledge, and become a part-owner of their club. To do so, you can join either The Jags Foundation or The Jags Trust.

Throughout the 2026/27 campaign, we will be collaborating with The Jags Foundation and Jags Trust on a number of initiatives to strengthen and champion our ownership model. But aside from those moments, we are keen to find as many ways as possible to increase the number of members, and level of pledges, going in.

Communication with fans

As we committed to at the AGM, we are putting in place a clear programme of opportunities for supporters to speak directly with the Board.

A Meet the Board evening will be held in the Alan Rough Lounge at Firhill, with all directors present. Now we know our Premier Sports Cup group stage fixtures, the detail on date and format will follow soon.

We will also shortly publish a schedule of drop-in surgeries where fans can raise anything directly with individual directors.

Season tickets and memberships

We intend to launch Season Ticket sales for 2026/27 early next week. Having dusted themselves down, our staff have spent the week going through the technical procedures required to be ready for sale.

The two play-off home games showed what Firhill looks like when it is full. 7,040 home tickets for those matches were purchased by or for people who do not currently hold a Season Ticket. That is an opportunity, and we will be working hard to convert as many as possible into long-term commitments.

If you know someone who came to those games and loved it, please encourage them to take the next step.

Our Jags for Generations add-on proved extremely popular in 2025/26, and we are keen to review and enhance the offering. Details on an updated membership scheme will be announced shortly.

On away allocations, we know the current process has frustrated supporters. We are reviewing how to make it fairer and will communicate the outcome clearly and promptly.

We are also moving forward with our planned consultation on segregation and ticket arrangements for future Celtic and Rangers fixtures at Firhill. That will arrive in inboxes in late June.

Strategic Vision

As previewed at our AGM, we will launch our Strategic Vision for our club in the next few weeks.

The Strategic Vision is an achievable yet ambitious five-year plan based around growth in revenues, football performance, fan ownership, and community impact.

As a Board, we are extremely positive and excited about what we can achieve together. Our club has so much to offer to so many, and we believe we are at the perfect moment to take an ambitious step forward in what we want to achieve, how we communicate, and how we can show fan ownership can impact many lives in many ways.

In line with the Strategic Vision launch, we are reviewing the optimum staffing approach to ensure that our operational capabilities are supported by room for our intended growth. This includes the CEO position, and other key hires.

Stadium works

We have embarked on a significant programme of stadium works in this close season, in addition to our annual pitch renovations.

Spoil down the back of the old terracing at the City End has accumulated to the extent of putting pressure on the retaining wall behind. Removal works have now started to relieve that pressure.

At the same end of the stadium, repairs are under way on the gates at the old turnstiles.

In addition, we are replacing broken seats in the Jackie Husband Stand, surveying required roof repair work, and are at the survey and tender stage for rough cast repairs to the front facade of the Colin Weir Stand.

Commercial

The club’s principal sponsorships are largely sold for the 2026/27 season and beyond, with some great opportunities available.

WrightKerr All Trades will again adorn the front of our jerseys, which will be manufactured and sold by new partners from 1 June. We will make an announcement shortly, but would like to make clear our gratitude to O’Neills and Greaves Sports for their time working with us.

We are also in active discussions about our Stadium Naming Rights.

Our commercial team has recently been strengthened with the appointment of freelance consultancy to support the department through this crucial period.

Being able to bring in a replacement for Megan Paterson, who recently left us for an opportunity abroad, has been pivotal as we look to make a long-term hire.

Limited places are also available in our 71 Lounge, and interested parties should contact for information.

Here’s to a productive summer to set us up for another promising season ahead.
